Netball

One of the sports I play is Netball. I play for sharks and I am in the 2nd team. I am going to tell you about a few basic rules of netball!...

There are 7 positions:

C- Center - Starts the center pass... Can go anywhere appart from circle.

WA- Wing Attack - Can only go in centre third and their third of the court.

WD- Wing Defence - Can only go in centre third and in oppositions third of the court.

GA- Goal Attack - Can go in centre third, their third and in their circle. Can shoot goals.

GD- Goal Defence - Can go in centre third, oppositions third and in oppostions circle.

GK- Goal Keep - Can only go in oppositions third and in oppositions circle.

GS - Goal Shoot - Can only go in their third and in thier circle. Can shoot goals.

A few basic rules are:

- You can not step with the ball which means when you catch the ball you must keep your feet grouded.

- You can not hold the ball for any longer than 3 seconds otherwise it is held ball.

- When your partner has the ball you must defend them 3 feet away.

- When you are pulled up for obstruction or contact you must stand down.

- Its a good idea to always stick with your partner.

- When the ball goes out of court the team that did not touch the ball last throws it in.

- If you go offside it is the other teams ball. The same for stepping.

- You can not grab the ball out of peoples hands.

- You can not bounce the ball otherwise it is replay ball.

There are alot more rules but it would take me forever to write them all down!
